Finding Space In-Between

The fizz of excitement
courses through my body
with uncorked ebullience
as the wild rush
of creative rapture
ensues.
This is a sign
to pause,
step back,
and expand
my awareness
even more...
Because
at times
this titillating flush of energy
can confound my body
and tip it toward
the terrain of fear
which triggers
the discordant pulse
of the past
to thump furiously
upon
the present.
